“I am passionate about helping people develop as leaders and helping those leaders build the most effective organizations possible. I take great joy in being part of my clients’ journey and facilitating them as they unfold great things.”
Andy Cohen PhD, is the Founder of August Third Leadership Partners. He brings over 30 years of wisdom and experience to the table.

Andy is passionate about helping people develop as leaders and helping those leaders build the most effective organizations possible. He gets great satisfaction in being part of our clients’ journey and facilitating them as they unfold great things.
Andy hails from upstate New York and after graduating from Brown University began his career as a consultant with Oliver Wyman. His success with banks and financial services clients attracted considerable attention and he was recruited away by Capital One who quickly saw the value he could bring to their organization. In short order he built and ran one of their major divisions. From there he moved into being an internal coach for other startups and young executives.

The itch to get back into the business world needed to be attended to, though, so Andy started August Third and here we are! Today, Andy’s passion has driven the growth of the firm and the crafting of a new way of working with leaders of all sorts. Over the years he has coached executives, young military officers, entrepreneurs, venture capital players, and leaders in organizations of all sizes. He takes the lessons of his own corporate experience, blends them with the academic rigor of his business school tenure and assembles programs that others simply can’t. When he isn’t engaged with client projects, he scratches his leadership development itch by volunteering as a mentor at the start up incubator 1776 and as a Senior Leadership Fellow at the Center for Junior Officers at West Point.
When not immersed in leading the firm, teaching at DU, and working with clients, he is an avid snow skier, runner, cyclist, sometimes triathlete, football fan, and father to two super twenty-somethings!
